OVERVIEW

This Tribeca apartment was conceived as both retreat and showcase, working to create a precisely edited environment for a young collector. The acquisitions set the terms for every spatial decision, with Michael Riedel's text-and-circle canvas anchoring the living room, accompanied by an electroplated canvas by Jacob Kassay which occupies a quieter position nearby, its silver surface absorbing and redistributing the room's shifting light. In the dining room, Collier Schorr's automotive photograph introduces a charge of subcultural cool; in the bedroom, Philip-Lorca diCorcia's large-format work transforms the compact sleeping space with dynamic energy.

The furniture draws from the mid-century canon, featuring a Breuer Wassily chair, a vintage rosewood Hans Wegner credenza, a Noguchi Akari pendant and PH pendant over the dining table — each a deliberate object in its own right, set against the warm oak floors, linen curtains, and a restrained white envelope. Architecture recedes where the collection demands it, and the result is an apartment that wears its intelligence lightly.
